Lots of progress!!

My client came over Monday afternoon and got the caulking done (no more leaking from the downstairs window), my grandma's cabinet hung (now a place to put stuff in the back room), and a table that's been sitting in my carport for the last year and a half is now in the living room (a place for my plants to spread their wings).  The table is VERY heavy but is big enough for all my plants to fit on. I've scattered my ceramic's around the plants so the kitties don't get the idea that that would be a good place to jump! So far it's working! And even better the carport is looking much better since I decided I might as well do some clean-up! YAY!! Slowly but surely I'm getting the outside caught up this year. It is really interesting how there is definitely something to that five year mark.

It's six month's into the future but I'm NOT looking forward to January! Government has decided that not only does 1099's and W-2's go to employees/subcontractors but they got to the government as well by January 31st. That is going to make for one hectic month!! I'm hoping my clients will work with me and most information will be entered by December! That would be awesome!

The new plant table, also storage for grand kids toys!

My Grandpa built this (and second) for my grandma. Mounting is ready for the second one but that could be a while. :)

Purple butterfly bush. I'm not sure where it came from since i have a white one!

Love these rose bushes

And apparently they love their spot!!

Liatris- the bees and hummingbirds love these.

Whoop!! Been quite the week!

Lots of exciting things going on. Today was probably the most exciting. My shed was completely off kilter. It looked like someone lowered their shoulder and rammed full force into it. It was knocked off the foundation around 3 or 4 inches at least (wood base included!) and the doors were knocked in as well. I have no clue when it happened other then sometime in January or February. Someone took their frustration out in it I think. No clue who though.... Anyhow, I have a client that is a handyman and he got a new floor down today and got it all put to rights. Yay!!! In addition almost all the junk got taken out and taken care of. There's a couple of things I could yard sale that are left. Nice to have a well rounded client list! Handyman, Doctor, acupuncturist, it's pretty awesome! ☺️

There's a really neat mile tracker app called Mile IQ that I tested out so I could let my clients know what it was like. I actually heard about it from another client last year. I've never bothered with the premium though because I have always been pretty good about writing mileage down. Why spend $5.99 a month to do what you already do? However apparently they give it to accountants for free and then we can give our clients a 20% discount (if they don't already have the app). A win all the way around. So I guess I'll be using it after all! For free!!! Yay!!! I finally feel like I'm making progress with my work. The client I said I'd do weekly is being done weekly and those that I said I'd do monthly will almost all be done! There's some stragglers I'll need to bug but progress!!!

This last week has been cool and yesterday was quite wet!! My area got over an inch of rain. I'm very, very glad that I didn't water the raspberries!! They tend to get water tasting with too much water. I'll pick them tomorrow. More jam on the way!! Lots of lettuce to pick and lots of peas to pick as well! I munched on a few raspberries and peas today but it was just too wet to pick. Sooo yummy!!! Love eating out of the garden!! I'm going to try planting some potatoes in a container that would normally be used to store things. The squirrels ruined it so I thought, why not. It already has holes for water drainage and I have some purple potatoes I'd like to plant. So perfect way to test it. (Saw the suggestion on Pin Interest)

The one bummer part is that vertigo has decided to visit me. I didn't get to Parma because of it. I did find out that car sickness medication does an awesome job of getting it under control! If I have it in the morning I just take a Dramamine and it's gone for the day. If it's still around in a couple of weeks I'll mention it to my doctor. But nice to have an easy solution!! The first day it hit I couldn't walk across the room without feeling nauseated. No fun!!

                 All nice a pretty!!

                   Peppers are setting!

                The peas are loaded!!

            Lady bugs on the potatoes.

  An awesome sunset Wednesday night!!

What an awesome weekend!

IiIOThis last weekend was my break on the coast. I stayed with some wonderful friends that spoiled me rotten!!  There's a steam train that goes from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach. Very cool!! (see below). The weather was beyond awesome! Thursday was cloudy but not too cool and then Friday-Monday was sunshine almost the whole way. There was a few clouds Sunday that gave the appearance of a haze as low clouds on the beach tend to do but that really depended where you were and for the most part we were where the sun was shining! 😊 I got  to visit with some people that I've only known from convention, and actually get to know a little about them. I was hoping to see someone who was a dear friend in Klamath Falls but that wasn't to be, however I got to visit with his mom, get to know her a bit and she took me down to a couple of places that I've never been. Cape Kiwanda and into more downtown Pacific City. Very, very enjoyable! We walked along the beach and climbed over some rocks. We got very lucky and actually found a parking spot in the parking lot! That place was packed to the gills! It's one area on the Oregon coast that they allow parking on the beach. She is doing awesome for someone who I believe is 79-80, if I did my math right!! A very dear lady!

I also got to meet a worker that went to college with my Aunt Nancy. He has been in the Midwest for years but is back in Oregon. I was able to visit with him a bit as well. He had a couple of stories to tell about what they did in college. He has Parkinson's though and it's starting to cause some issues. 😔

The lady where I stayed gave me a bunch of plant starts so I get to figure out where I'm going to stick them. :) It'll be perfect though because after tomorrow it's supposed to be rainy and cool (60's) for several days. So because of that rain coming I mowed the lawn and picked the raspberries after I got home. As well as doing some payroll, sending some emails, fielding some phone calls, and catching my own books up and setting my budget up for the month! WHEW!!😅

But what a WONDERFUL weekend it was!!

There's something down there!! :)

Water Lily

This shows the haze I was talking about. And a good picture of the sea gull! :)

This is the caboose of the steam engine train. This is where you pay for the ride.

The inside of the closed in car. They even have old suitcases above the seats. :)

The covered but open seating. This is where we sat.

The wide open seating. You can see the engine with just a bit of steam coming out too. This area was filled up going back to Garibaldi!

View of a lake from the train.

One of the outlets to the ocean.

This is my favorite picture from the train ride. You can see that there is a hole in the rock.

Me :)

This is an old climbing rose at the friend I went to visit Saturday evening. It has climbed all the way up into the tree!

There's a tribute wall to the Dorymen at Cape Kiwanda. Very neat!

Cape Kiwanda beach.

A view of the cars on the beach. There's a large parking lot behind where I took this picture that was packed full as well.

Sea anemone

Some of the rocks we climbed over

A gorgeous end to a wonderful Saturday!

Here's the train from a friends house Sunday that we rode on Saturday.

A seagull that was waiting for handouts.

Where we went to lunch Sunday. They have the most wonderful corn on the cob!! And Crab and clams! All fresh!

The sun was still shining when I left today!

My awesome find at the Goodwill in Tillamook! $11 for all of it!

The peas are loaded!

Erika did an awesome job keeping the lettuce going despite 95-100* heat Friday-Sunday!

Potatoes

And in the middle is the volunteer viola that I have a picture of in an earlier blog!
