It's been a long while since I've felt the need for an update but tonight feels like the night for it! :)
My job is going quite well. Payroll is once again on the duty roster as of the end of last month. But since I was on vacation for that first payroll, my official first payroll run will be next week. It's hard to believe I've been doing payroll for over 30 years now! (minus the last two years) I've got a new office and the view is amazing!! Fields and mountains as far as the eye can see.
The vacation was amazing with lots of friends and family visits along the way. Went down to Klamath Falls, over to Medford and up 1-5, over to the coast at Salem and then to Portland for a week. Everywhere I went had wonderful weather. The day on the beach was even sunny with NO wind while I was on the beach. It was amazing! It was so, so good to see everyone. Many I hadn't seen in several years. I'll post a few pictures below of some of the amazing scenery. The grandkids are growing so, so quickly! My oldest is now 13 and taller then I am! Teagan and Scarlet are in softball and Jameson and Greyson are in T-ball so mom and dad are VERY busy parents right now! Scarlet typically is behind the plate as a catcher and I've got to say she's an amazing one! Gymnastics has certainly helped her there! Teagan typically plays between 2nd and third. Both did well hitting as well! The T-ball game was awesome! Greyson thought the perfect spot for his mitt while he was in the field was on top of his hat. It was hilarious and cute as he trotted off the the field. Jameson was at second base, but the dirt was quite fun to play in! I got several days with them this time. It was wonderful!
Due to awesome neighbors the yard/garden was well taken care of! I got almost all of last years debris taken care of before I left so that will make it much easier to dig in next week preparing the garden and transplanting. There's a lot of lavender volunteers that need to be disbursed around the yard! I also have some lilac starts that need to spread around. I've started using pelleted chicken manure in the garden this year in addition to my regular fertilizing. If the strawberries are anything to go by the results will be amazing this year (seem to be using that word a lot LOL!). The honey berry bushes have shot up and I think it's because of that. The only thing being picked right now is lettuce and some asparagus. I'm hoping that the voles will be pretty much eradicated by next month. They were AWFUL last year. They were pretty much around the whole perimeter of the yard. They ate at just about everything in the garden. But I also found out the double bubble gum (pink type) works if several pieces are put down each hole every few days or so, so a lot of gum has been gone through the last six months! But the results are that only one area is really left and that area doesn't have as near as many holes now. They can't digest it so time does it's natural thing. The key is to stay on top of it though, even when one thinks they're making progress. Found that out the hard way last year!
My age is starting to show up in health issues showing up! LOL! Acid reflux, arthritis are the worst of them so far thankfully! 60 is practically knocking on the door now. 😆
