Life's exploding!

This past couple of weeks has been pretty unreal. Lots of new contacts, several new and possible new jobs. I just never really thought that I would be to this point. All those months of networking and networking some more are royally paying off. Connections that I've made in the past are coming through. Soon it might be time to hire help! That's a GOOD spot to be in! :)  But, as always, I keep reminding myself that I need to keep my priorities straight. Spiritual comes first, serving my Father comes first. I definitely notice a difference when the morning gets away from me and I haven't done my part.

We sent my Aunt Nancy on her way back to the Philippines Wednesday. So she's back home. Sierra, Doreen, Doyle and Lee saw her off as well. I managed to dump some Jamba juice on her but luckily she had a dark blue skirt so it didn't show. I sure hope it wasn't too sticky! I'm really going to miss her though. She's such a special lady! And she spoiled me this last year! :)

This is one from last year but an awesome picture of Erika and Teagan
Teagan in her tutu. :)
Teagan is now walking! She is sooooo cute! But wow can she be stubborn! Teagan.... no , But grandma I really want it, Teagan... no, But grandma I really need to get to that!  But grandma I really HAVE to get to it! and so on and so forth. I was never that stubborn was I? ;-)  Erika and Blake are going to have LOTS of fun!!

Small, small world!

I was talking with my financial adviser the other day that knows someone else, this someone else was talking about various situations he had had to handle at different jobs. One of those was the situation with my husband when he disappeared. When he started describing it, my financial adviser was shocked to realize that he knew exactly who he was talking about. Very few people know the details that this guy was describing so I imagine he was a bit shocked to be talking to someone that actually knew of the situation and yet seemingly had no connection. It was a very good lesson for me. We never know the connections that others have that we associate with. What is my testimony to those around me? Random things come up in different conversations that people have, I want to live a life that speaks of my Father and His Son.

On another note, I went into Freddies today and actually had no problem! That was an exciting step! And then I got to babysit my granddaughter! She is starting to walk. So cute to see her toddling around!

Hope everyone had a awesome Valentine Day!!

January's DONE!

Well, all the 1099's are mailed and all the payroll is completed and filed! By Saturday everybody should have their W-2's. There was a last minute change on one so it didn't get to the mail until this afternoon. It sure feels good to have that part done! Next year I'm starting those a lot sooner though! I did end up with 3 new payrolls this last month, so that was pretty awesome! Now to complete year-end for a bunch of people. I took tonight to straighten out everything so I can jump in tomorrow. It's so hard to believe where the business is now compared to a year ago. Love it! Really though I attribute it to my Father. I feel very well cared for!

Christina did awesome on her AP Literature final. Her score of 88 was the second highest in the class. She pulled a 3.6. Very proud of her!

Busy.... Busy....

Lots of work on my desk to do but it's been a while since I blogged so I thought I would take a few minutes. Lots of good connections have been made this year already. We'll see if any of them turn into something but they're exactly the connections I need to make! The awesome news is that my income literally doubled this last year! Hardly seems possible but there you go! The key for me now is getting myself set on a schedule. It's amazing how much time the phone and e-mail can take out of a day!

I do pretty much credit networking for the growth. Getting out and meeting A LOT of new people. There was probably somewhere between 6 and 10 hours a week doing it. But the REAL credit goes to my Father! I needed to do my part first then the proper connections could be made. They're connections that in some cases make me so thankful for all that I have both naturally and spiritually. Just when you think your life is bad here comes another with an awful awful situation. I, quite honestly, feel pretty sheltered and very well taken care of!

Christina is busy with the end of semester papers but doing pretty good over all. Erika is an awesome mama!

Here's a few pictures of Teagan with Mom and Auntie Nancy and Teagan having LOTS of fun on the fridge!

Long day!

The really good news is Christina is fine and the bad news is my car is not. :(  It looks like someone clipped the back when she was almost done turning and shoved her into a turn lane which turned into a head on since a car was coming into the turn lane. The extra good news is that I got car rental insurance a couple of weeks ago so, no matter what, the insurance will cover the car rental while I wait and find out if they'll total the car or repair it and while they sort out who was really at fault. After seeing it tonight at the I'd guess they'll total it. There was a wonderful good Samaritan that was there and helped Christina through the whole thing and transported her to the hospital in her car. The interesting part is this good Samaritan was supposed to work today but she just felt that God was telling her she had something else to do today so she called in and told them she wouldn't be there. She ended up spending about an hour and half helping Christina.

Luckily I was having lunch with Ed and Mike when I got the news and they were able to run us everywhere to get everything taken care of. It's wonderful how even the worst of things seem to work out fairly smoothly in the end.

As we well know, it's amazing how quickly things can happen that can change the course of a day and cause a domino effect into the following days. And just as days start taking on an even keel!

A short ramble...

I wasn't going to say much anymore but I need to get out in words what's started building thank's to this holiday anxiety. I'm hoping releasing some of it will help! It was going soooo well!

There's been A LOT of strides made in the last year. I've grown a lot spiritually (and still have a long long way to go!) I honestly was clueless how close to the edge I was. That's the biggest reason I'm thankful it all happened. Actually only one at this point but it overrides everything else that's been a struggle!!  I was happy in my little rut thank you very much, but my Father wasn't happy to see me in that rut!

The car that Dave drove and the chair that Dave sat in are gone as of this month so I'm suspecting that didn't help! But it's steps that need to be done. I just don't like the process the mind and body go through while it's happening! I'm also redoing the office, hopefully for the final time for a while. So when all is said and done by the end of the holidays all the change should be taken care of! Then on to a new year.  And to keep myself on track lots of prayer and lots of reading.

We've heard nothing so it's essentially the same as almost two years ago. I'm not quite sure how a person does it. I would guess a false identity would be the most logical. DNA still isn't officially recorded. GRR!! But they do have the samples they need now. Just praying for his soul. At this point that is the most important thing.

Sigh... I'll probably be on again soon. My thoughts are everywhere tonight! Happy Thanksgiving to all who read this!!

Woes of your own home....and a LICENSE!!!

Joys of owning your own home! Had to get one of my gutters replaced as well as the wood around the gutter. Luckily it appears that the roof wasn't affected, which is a really good thing since it's a flat roof! I'm just thankful that someone noticed it and pointed it out to me!! The yard is, at least temporally, cleaned up. The front looks SO much better!  Then on to blinds and next spring, repairing dry rot areas and painting the house. Hopefully that takes care of things for a little while but most likely something else will pop up!

Christina got her license last week!!! Hard to believe that my baby will be 18 this month! I really appreciate the thought that she's putting into her future. It's a struggle to figure out who you are and what to do with your life and decide what is really important. I'm thankful of the respect that she shows me as her mom and adults in general. Thanksgiving day will be the birthday day!

Everybody have an awesome weekend and remember those who have fought to keep our country free!
