Musings

Last weekend was spent in Manhattan Montana at a church convention. It was well worth the drive. It's once again made me so thankful for the journey that my Father has sent me on. We heard that it needs to be a prosperous journey. A prosperous journey does not mean that it will be easy, it doesn't mean that there won't be problems along the way. It simply means that at the end of the journey the goal is reached. Being prosperous means that I've been willing to reach out and get help to get through the tough times. I haven't depended on myself to get through. There's been so many times in the last 8 years that that help has been there. It's amazing how being willing to reach out to our Father makes a beyond tough situation turn into a manageable situation with peace. I was also told about one of our friends and his story. If there was ever proof that our Father only cares about a willingness to repent this is it. It was amazing. Drug addict for many, many years, almost killed someone, was in jail for 18 years. Now he's so happy. Loves fellowship with friends, loves meetings, loves his place. He is content. I love hearing those stories and love what a kind, loving Father that we have.  He waits for us to become willing to repent. It's practically impossible to change someone who doesn't care so He waits patiently for the right time. And when that right time comes then we wonder why it took so long to become willing!! There's a friend from Portland that was on the way to a brothers and got in a major car accident a couple of weeks ago. He's still not doing very well at all. It's actually surprising that he's still alive. But it's a solemn reminder that we never know when chances may run out to seek that repentance, to seek that help. One weekend he's at a friends saying I'll see you in two weeks and a few days later he's fighting for his life.

Got the string up for the pole beans this evening! Today was actually cooler then was called for due to a cloud cover. It reached the mid 80's instead of the mid 90's. We'll take it!! :) The sunset last night was soooo gorgeous! Looks like tonights will be to. Meet a couple from down the street that knows the lady I've replaced. We both were taking pictures of the sunset. It's interesting being in a small town, but I love it! :) The next 10 day's show mid 90's.

We moved my dad to a foster care home just about two weeks ago. It seems to be going fairly well so far. Repeated bouts of aspiration pneumonia led us to the foster care instead of assisted living. My brother wouldn't know he had the pneumonia until it was really bad. The last time they only found it due to an X-ray. They couldn't hear it but my dad was in really bad shape and assisted living doesn't/can't check often enough because 1 hour he seems fine and then he's down for the count and if not taken to the hospital right away could very well pass. Pretty scary how quickly he goes down hill once the process starts.

I get my bookcases for upstairs tomorrow!!! It'll be so exciting to be able to get the loft area situated!

Pole beans are set!
