New Year's kept me quite busy! Lots of visiting got done at various peoples places. It was very, very nice! Especially since this next month is going to be crazy busy! Part of it was also sitting in front of the fire. :) When the east wind is howling in the winter it's the perfect day to build a fire. And then today (Sunday) we got a snowstorm early in the day and then it turned to freezing rain. So as I sit here in front of the fire with my front windows completely iced up and the roads a skating rink! This morning snow was awesome though! It was pure powder! All I needed was a broom to clear in front of the door. It's been a long time since we had a good winter storm that dropped snow and had it stick around the whole day. Normally it warms up and melts off but not today! :) Pictures below.
I'm very curious to see what this next year has in store! One thing I know is that I need to stay in touch with friends better. Whether it's visiting them, writing them or having them for a meal. I like the thought Christina had. You aren't making time for seeing someone, you're giving them time. I also need to go through some more things and get my miscellaneous room finished. It's super close but definitely needs finished!
Early this morning. It looks pixeled but it's actually the snow!
Looking down to the school yard. It was so hard to really know how much snow since it was blowing everywhere!
The left side of the driveway. Drifting going on here.
Can really see the effects of blowing snow here!
The beginning of freezing rain.
And this is what my east side windows look like when we have freezing rain.
A nice glaze of ice on the street!
And on my car!
So here I sit in front of the fire! :)
